Well, we had a GREAT time on our long weekend trip to Pensacola Beach. We got to see lots of family and old friends...lots of sweet kiddos and babies too. It was a fun time. There were lots of balcony chats, delicious sushi and oysters, and fun games. Taylor was a bit hesitant about the waves on his first-ever visit to the beach. He seemed to prefer the calmness of the pool. Every now and then, when he needed some peace and quiet, he would simply sneak off to his own corner and color for a while...I guess every man needs a little contemplation time every now and then!
As for the flights, which I was anxious about, Taylor did great...he really is a good flyer and since this was his 5th round trip flight, he is getting a lot of experience under his belt - wish lap babies could earn FF miles! The final leg home from Dallas to Tyler Monday night was especially difficult when our plane was diverted mid-air to Shreveport for over 3 hours due to severe weather in Tyler. We made it home finally after midnight!! I honestly think it was more stressful for Mommy (and Daddy on the ground) than T-man!
Oh and on an interesting culinary note, I discovered this weekend that my 16-month old really likes to eat miso soup, seaweed salad, sushi rice and edamame - guess he has his Mommy's palate!
So all in all, it was a great vacation...just not long enough...but then, when is a great vacation EVER long enough?
