St. Louis

   

         

We visited St. Louis this past weekend for our annual MLB trip - and of course, our first stop was the Arch!

 

For real, the tram to the top of the arch was A LOT like Mork's space egg....very tiny space with 5 people inside!!

 Made it to the top...630 feet in the air!

 While the boys looked to west and pointed out landmarks in St Louis....

 I looked east towards Illinois and found a rainbow over the The Mississippi!

 Sun was setting as we left so Tman took a nice pic of his parents....

 And of course this was his silly idea!  He had me take it until it looked exactly like he "was holding up the arches!"  Goofy kid.

 The next day, we headed about 15 minutes into Illinois to the Cahokia native american settlement and mounds.

   

 Of course you get a personalized tour when you daddy is a professor of Native American history!

 It was really a cool educational place....I thought these fishing hooks carved from bone were really neat.

 We swung by the Stan Musial statue for PawPaw on our way to another adventure...

 A good friend had sworn we had to visit the City "museum"...and I put museum in quotes because really, it was more of an anti-museum.

 It was basically a huge playground!!!

 There was even a ferris wheel on TOP of the building and yea, this was my face right before I begged the operator to stop and let me off!  I really do not like ferris wheels.  Hate that seemed to forget that  :)

And finally the main event....the reason we were there - the big game.  The Cardinals playing the Marlins.

 T stopped for some Dinger's donuts on the way to our seats...warm donuts drizzled in melted chocolate and sprinkles.

 We even caught some pokemon in the stadium!  :)

 On the way back to our hotel room, we saw Aaron Miles and Scott Spiezio from the 2006 World Series winning Cardinals team...of course they took a quick pic with us showing off their Championship rings! 

 

We had a quick and busy and fun trip to STL...and on the flight back home, my boy CRASHED!!

All in all, another good addition to our summer MLB tradition...though no, we are not Cardinals fans now!  :)
