Camping!

 So this Saturday night was our long-awaited camping trip...check out this packed trunk.  We were PREPARED. :)

 And by camping, I mean with TENTS! 

 Check out this wilderness woman....pumping up an air mattress. :)

 It was so gorgeous around our campsite.

 We walked down to the camp store and T found a chess table so he HAD to play a quick game.

 Then it was time to start our fire...T did great and learned some good campfire lessons

 Soon it was raging!

 What is it with fire, sticks and little boys?  Some kind of endless primal entertainment.

 Wilderness boys...emphasis on the WILD.

 We ran out of firewood eventually so we ventured into the woods and found some big limbs....this was non stop til bedtime. Camping is hard work!

 We had hot dogs and of course S'mores over the fire!

We had to tell some scary stories by the fire too...I would like to tell you we did not scare one of these poor kids to tears but that would be lying. )

  

 We  also made our own jiffy pop for snacking by the fire.

 Time for bed...nothing says "CAMPING" like playing on an Ipad before bedtime, right?!?!  :)

 Me and my boy snuggled up in the tent.  We had the top opened to the screen so we could watch the stars and moon all night.  There were definitely animals of sorts outside our tents from about 3 to 5 AM...but we braved it! 

 The next morning we went fishing...how cool is this pic?  With the reflection, it looks like he is fishing in the sky!
 

 

 On the way home, the kids passed out - camping wipes you out!  All in all, definitely a great experience for all of us...good memories created. And I hope we can do it again some day!!
