Well the last few weeks of summer were super fun as imagined...so let's start with my crazy boy doing cartwheels during a summer storm...there was also a rain angel done in the soaking driveway. Goofball!
T had a last summer outing with some buddies to the Orlando McDs - the largest McDonald's Playland in the country...
Look PawPaw - the swing is still hanging and the kiddos still love it!
The third weekend of July, I went down south to Miami to visit my good buddy, Jodi for her mother's memorial party.
The morning after the memorial party, we went to the beach for sunrise mimosas....that was one of her mom's fave activities. It was gorgeous!
Then for the big event to top off our Summer 'O Fun...family beach trip!
ON the drive to ORange Beach, we stopped in Tally for dinner with Harris and Meem. The two boys may have a six year difference, but they act like best buds when together!

We finally made it to the beach...Uncle B and the kids dug a HUGE hole in the sand....
And lo and behold, from the balcony you could see it was more than just a hole,,,,it was a giant sting ray! Awesome job!!
OH babies...so much fun loving on these cuties all week!
One beautiful day, we cooked out some dogs down by the pool for lunch...my sis, the Grill Master. :)
One day was a very exciting "first" for my kiddo...and his cousin Wrennie. Aunt Ami took them PARASAILING!!!!
They took a banana boat out to the parasailing boat and apparently that was a lot of fun too.
Then the main event....parasailing! T was very scared but powered thru and did it...very proud of him.
Thank you Aunt Ami! T ran up to me afterward with a huge hug screaming "it was AWESOME mom!"
T has always loved his cousins but he has always been the youngest so getting to be the older cousin and holding the twin babies was SO MUCH FUN.
He adored these baby girls and they adored him too...so sweet!
OF course we had to eat some raw oysters...

My lifelong buddy Gretchen and her sweet Madeleine came over for a quick visit one evening.
One night, the sisters and Brannon went out to Flora-Bama...wow! Definitely more interesting than I remember it. But then, I am a lot older than last time I went. :)
They encourage you to use a sharpie to leave your "mark" around the bar...so we did!
We even got to spend an afternoon visiting with our cousins Ann, Holly and Natalie who we have not seen in years and years!

As happens with our fam, things often center around food! First night we did appetizer night and it was YUMMY.

H and T insisted on a family wiffle ball game one evening and honestly, most of the grownups were not too stoked...but I think we all admit now it was FUN

And of course, no Harris vaca is complete without our family cookoff...all I can say is WOW, my family can COOK. All entries were amazing and it was one heck of a dinner that night...(of course. there was the "cookoff scandal of 2017" of which we will not speak, PawPaw!)

On the way home for a truly perfect vacation (I mean, Taylor was actually MAD at me for hours for making him leave!), we stopped by Tally and saw our wonderful friends, M and M and L...

ANd read T's handwritten card for me...so glad he does not think I am a donkey! That kid!! :)
One night, I found T snuggled up on the floor next to the bed...reminded me of doing that to Dad when I was little.
And with this pic, we bid adieu to Summer 2017 and say hello to 5th grade! Thanks for the memories...it was a great summer!
