Yikes...sorry!

       

Yea yea I know...been slack again.  What can I say?  Life happens...

So catching up now...going back to the color run at T's school....his hair looked like rainbow sherbert!

  

   It was fun to see all these kids having so much fun and raising money for their school!

    

   His class and teacher, all colored up!

 

 AHHHHH...then came the LOOOOOOOONG day of Odyssey of the Mind regional competition...

 This is Tman as DaVinci showing off his very unique representation of the Mona Lisa in their long-term problem performance.

 ANd definitely the thing that put them over the top - their spontaneous problem.  They came out of this room with big smiles and knew they had rocked it!

 And to the coaches' shock (but not the kids!)...they took home second in their division and are advancing to state!  When they announced our team, these kids went CRAZY!  Afterward, T even told me it was the most exciting moment of his LIFE!!!  The next week, they wore their medals to school and the morning news showcased them in a segment.  Very exciting (exhausting) stuff!

 Meanwhile in the west....Dan and I fly into Vegas for a few days the morning after the Odyssey competition. Thank you again to Mama and Aunt Joanie for keeping our boy!  This is a pic as we were about to land. It's so odd to be flying over brown nothingness for miles and miles then suddenly see a big city sitting in the middle of the desert.

 

 On the first day, I was channeling Meemaw and sat down at a Wheel of Fortune game and immediately won $125.  Thanks Meem!

 By the end of the night, I had lost that $125 but found some super fun hats so there's that.

  We were actually primarily in Vegas for Dan to present at a conference so for fun, I got a pic of him doing his thang!

I don;t even know what those mountains are called but they were sure pretty in the sunrise!  :)

 

We stayed in the New York New York resort which really did look like the Manhattan horizon.

  Dan and I tried our first O2 bar...very relaxing and unique experience.

 We eventually bid farewell to Sin City...and got back to normal. That next weekend, T and his buddy went with me and my buddy to our local Bark 'N Brew festival...very fun. Did not tale Fidel though - would have been too much for the old wild dude!

 

 Just a pic of my favorite sushi date...which he could eat every dang night if we could afford it!

 OH and big news...we got 1800 square feet of floor in our house redone...1000 in wood grain tile (finally NO carpet in my dining room!) and 600 in new carpets (T was adamant that he needed carpet and not tile in his bedroom!)

 A pic of my boy at bat in a recent baseball game...so far they are undefeated but have a tough match up next week so stay tuned....

 It's that time of year again--MLB spring taining!  This year we headed to Clearwater to to the Phillies stadium.

 We had great seats but sadly they allowed us to get a great view of the Phillies beating our red Sox in the bottom of the ninth!

 

 This is a group of T's buddies at school...last Thursday was my favorite school event - the Lawton family picnic.  It happens every year immediately following Field Day and then the kids check out early and their spring break starts!  I just love the weather and seeing all the kiddos playing together and getting to visit with other families.

 And this is how T's Spring break began...running around with his gaggle of friends in the neighborhood.  In this pic they are actually looking for "treasure" in the lake.  Also on his spring break, he has two sleepovers, a day at Aquatica waterpark, a day at Hukoos for laser tag, arcade, jumping and more, 3 trips to Boing, and an exciting game watching UCF beat Illinois in the NIT.  Not a Hawaii trip like some of his friends but not too shabby!

 To celebrate T's recent report card, he requested a trip to Sushi Pop - kinda a hip and modern sushi place.

 The food was amazing but not sure T's palate is quite there yet. Right now, he is more of an eating machine than a savoring machine. :)

 And I leave you with salmon belly served on a himalayan salt block drizzled with blood orange ponzu...oh yeah!!
