Updates

 We have been devoting LOTS of time to Odyssey of the Mind lately...the team attended a 4 hour spontaneous problem workshop where they learned a lot.

 This is a great group of super creative and smart kids.  I have enjoyed being their coach.

 Had to share this...while we were sitting at the spontaneous workshop, a sweet kindergartener named Tate walked up to me and proposed.  See my purple engagement ring?  The precocious child even tried to lay a wet one right on my lips!! :)

 And T finished his biography bottle project on Walt Disney...finally!!

 Finished bottle...and he wrote a report and had to give an oral presentation to class.

 Of course we had plenty of time for FUN too...this is T and his buddies sitting by the fire at a recent sleepover...

 And the mom sent me this pic of the boys doing a bit of late-night disco wrestling. 

 Ahhhh and my favorite founding father...and some of his best quotes...

 His bday was January 29th and as usual, we celebrated at our house.

 A ."1770s style" dinner by the fireplace on wooden plates...cheese, cured meats, apples and brown breads while we discussed some of TP's best ideas and what he might think about our world today.

 This is me rocking my Hijab for World Hijab Day in support of our muslim sisters around the world....let me just say, getting these things on are not as easy as people think!  I was cracking myself up that morning before work!

 T has not asked for a "taste test" muffin tinner in a long time but he did last week...strangely enough, the only item he could not identify in his blind taste test was the powdered sugar donuts!  :)

 More odyssey of the mind prep...this is part of T's costume for Leonardo da Vinci.  He is also playing the chinese artist Chen Hongshou.

    

 And since parents are not allowed to help AT ALL, the kids have learned a lot of new skills..including using a table saw...

 and a drill! 

 OH and there has been SO MUCH spray painting!!

 More fun....I took T and his buddies to a local carnival a few weekends ago...

 Which meant yummy fair food...

 And lots of crazy rides that made me nauseous to even watch!!

 The next night was the Superbowl!  One of our neighbors set up a big screen and projector outside and we all brought food.  It was awesome!

 

More big news - baseball season has begun again. Practices anyway...his first game is Feb. 28th.  He told the coach he wants to play third base this year??  News to us but whatever. 

 And lastly, more FUN...T spent the day at Aquatica waterpark last Sunday with four of his buddies....a gorgeous day and lots of fun!!!
