This and that

  

So as usual, I need to catch up...thankfully I am still not as far behind as my older sister.  :)  Rewinding a few weeks...Taylor completed his final project for 3rd grade...a robot model and report for science class.

 He named his robot "John" and it apparently cooked for him in the black box (the microwave), dispensed drinks from the green area, and candy from the orange button. :)

 

On May 12th, we celebrated Fidel's 14th bday...in dog years, that is 98!

 

   

 We stuck a candle in a pile of turkey and honestly before I could pull the candle out, he ate the whole thing in one gobble - lit candle, meat and all!  Goofy dog has never changed.

 A few days before the end of T's baseball season we played a parents vs kids kickball team...super fun!

  Had to stretch out for quite a few poorly thrown balls...

After the last game, it was time for a pool party at the coach's house...

  T and his neighbor buddies have started climbing out back fence and exploring the dense woodsy area behind our yard...they even found a spot that T says is "perfect for a man cave."  He honestly asked me what it would take to get cable back there!  HA!

   

 Thankfully, no snakes or poison ivy YET but they certainly have found other "treasures."

 

  

 Like this animal skull...after being certain it was a "dinosaur skull",  they finally relented and admitted it was probably just a raccoon or opossum skull.

Yeah, this treasure was their favorite.  They ran inside showing Dan and I and telling us about it is probably "an ancient native american artifact that has been out there for decades" and "can we please either sell it on Ebay or to the government for a museum?!?!"  Obviously this is a  marijuana pipe which we did not tell the kids but Dan and I are still laughing over it!

 

 They also found this groovy metal briefcase that says "US property."  They decided this was probably from World War Two or the Civil War.  :)  I love kids' imaginations.

 The next week, I helped a friend work the AR (Accelerated Reader) store at the school. I had as much fun with all the toys as the kids!

 

 Mom as Medusa....plastic snakes are always fun.

  

  As the end of the year comes to an end, it meant student-led conferences at T's classroom.

  He led us through all his test scores and writing assignments in his folder.  This was my favorite assignment - a letter to Mom and Dad.

 

 Last skate night of the year...our friends Josette and Anthony joined us...let's just say, Josette is a much better mama skater than THIS mama!  :)

 

 T-man is not winning any races yet but is definitely getting better!

 

 Last Friday was the End of Year bash at school...the boys pretty much played football for the whole 3 hours....

  

 Minus 15 minutes to watch a VERY cheesy magic show!

 

 

 Then saturday, we hit Boing with our buddies as usual...then back to Anthony;s house to swim.

 

 

   We brought our new game Pie Face....and everyone played, even the parents.  Super fun....and funny!

 

 T even convinced his dad to play when we got home...and yes, he got pied!
