WHOA, lots of happenings lately and I truly have a real excuse for not updating lately...my blogger app quit working but I reloaded it today and it finally started working again so I am back in business....now to catch you up!
Late March was the State Odyseey of the Mind competition...at UCF campus so we were lucky. It was a gorgeous day!
The team after their spontaneous problem...they said it was not as easy as the one at districts!

After their long-term problem performance. I was SO proud of these smart creative kids...OOTM is no easy task and certainly a big time commitment. They did great!
Getting closer to Easter....means egg dying with buddies! Not the requisite green hands! :)

And of course, more baseball in between all the other fun....love this action shot of T sliding across homeplate.
We had our annual egg hunt in the park with our buddies again. We hid regular plastic eggs and glitter PRIZE eggs as well...of course T found five of them. Stinker.
Easter morning...FIVE AM...T began his detective work to track down his basket...ahhhhhh, grass in the door? Clue one!

T pitched a few games this season and really did pretty well even though he still claims he is retired. :)
My hubs and I went on a date day the Friday before T's bday weekend...so much fun as usual!

Took him a buddy to Boing that afternoon and they took a break from jumping to actually climb the rock wall. T is on the left. :)
Later some more buddies came over to play with his new laser tag guns. FUN FUN
T and his buddy Dalton went around the neighborhood knocking on doors to sell discount cards to raise money for their all-star team. This was a great skill for these boys to learn! How to speak to strangers, how to ask nicely and make a sales pitch AND how to accept NO gracefully!
And then the big double digit bday party arrived...T and nine buddies at laser tag!

OPening gifts from buddies...my kid in ten years of life has been blessed with great friends and I hope he continues to value and appreciate them.

And the last project of the school year (hopefully!)...T's tri-fold display on the american mink and the royal fern.
It also had to include a 3D clay model (above) and a powerpoint slideshow.

And finally....the grandparents from MS arrived!! T had not seen them in 3 years but it was just like yesterday when he saw them. Some bonds can never be broken.
We immediately dragged them to the school for a student-led conference where T got to show them all his work and scores and progress from the year.
They got to see his science project.
And that evening, they watched him in the first playoff game of his end-of-season baseball tourney. He showed off a bit for them by getting a homer. :)
That night back at home, hilarity ensued when we played SpeakOut with the grands. Never a dull moment. :)
For the first time since he started Lawton, T got to participate in the "Walk and Roll." PawPaw walked him to school.
So sweet.
While T was in school, the adults headed down to Ybor city for a few hours and a yummy lunch at The Columbia.

That night before bed, we had our traditional Story-in-the-round with PawPaw...always fun and the grandkids love it!
Next day T stayed home from school and PawPaw hung up his cool web swing for him.
And immediate hit...
For ALL ages. ;)
More games...this was Pam's first time playing Headbands I think.
And we did a local escape room...super fun and YES, we escaped!
In typical grandparent fashion, they spoiled my boy with a Nike shopping spree at the mall...new clothes, shoes and socks!
The final night of their visit, we watched T play in a second playoff game...he had another good game and the team won. So glad the Grands got to watch with us!
SOOO happy and grateful for P and P and their visit...like T's friends, he has wonderful family who love him and fill his life with love and smiles and hugs. It's all good.

It was good to see everyone again - not so long next time.
Love this post, what a fun visit from PP & P! I think the student led conference is so awesome and how great that T got to share with grandparents this time. And the baseball game showing off, love it! And I can't wait to come visit and try out the new swing!
